  • Product colour and surface finish
  • Packaging and localized documentation
  • Battery capacity and voltage configuration
  • BMS and communication protocol adaptation
  • Inverter, PCS or EMS compatibility
  • Interface or minor structural changes
  • Application-specific system configuration

Best suited for

Energy storage brands, distributors, importers and solution providers that want to build a differentiated product line on an established technical platform.

OEM: Manufacture a Customer-Designed Product

OEM cooperation is suitable for customers who provide a defined product design, including the applicable drawings, technical architecture, structural requirements, hardware, software and manufacturing specifications.

Typical OEM inputs
  • Product specifications and bill of materials
  • Electrical and system architecture
  • Structural and mechanical drawings
  • BMS, PCS or control requirements
  • Software or firmware requirements
  • Quality and testing standards
  • Target-market compliance requirements
Best suited for

Established energy storage companies and technology owners with a complete or substantially developed product design that requires production engineering and manufacturing support.

Choose the Right Development Model

OEM and ODM projects require different levels of technical input, development and validation. Understanding the difference helps both teams evaluate the project more efficiently.

Certification Support

GeePower reviews the certification requirements for each customized product based on its technical changes and target market. Existing certifications may be used where applicable, while additional testing or certification requirements will be confirmed before development.

Confidentiality & Intellectual Property

GeePower can sign an NDA before confidential information is shared. Customer-owned designs remain with the customer, while GeePower retains ownership of its existing ODM platforms and grants agreed usage rights for the customized product.

Optional note

Specific certification costs, confidentiality terms and usage rights are confirmed separately for each project.

OEM & ODM FAQ

GeePower’s ODM cooperation is based on our existing residential or commercial energy storage platforms, with agreed adaptations to branding, capacity, communication, components or structure. OEM cooperation is intended for customers who provide a defined product design, technical architecture, drawings, software and manufacturing requirements.

OEM and ODM cooperation is available for residential energy storage systems, cabinet BESS and containerized energy storage systems. The applicable cooperation model depends on the selected platform and required development scope.

Available options may include the logo, model name, product label, colour, enclosure, packaging, manual, datasheet, capacity, voltage, battery configuration, BMS, communication protocol, inverter, PCS, EMS, interfaces and selected structural elements.

Minimum order requirements apply to residential energy storage products and vary according to the model and customization scope. Commercial and industrial energy storage projects are normally evaluated according to the specific system and project requirements rather than a standard MOQ.

Yes. Engineering prototypes or pre-production samples can be arranged after the technical scope, development cost and commercial terms have been confirmed.

Development, prototyping and tooling fees may apply depending on the project scope. Subject to an agreed order threshold and written commercial terms, certain fees may be credited against subsequent bulk orders.

Light ODM adaptations typically require approximately 25–50 days, while medium or heavy ODM projects may require 45–120 days. OEM manufacturing introduction may require approximately 60–180 days. New certification can add an estimated two to six months. Final timing is confirmed after technical review.

Not automatically. Applicability depends on the brand, model designation, electrical design, structure, components and target-market requirements. GeePower evaluates the certification impact before the development scope is finalized.

Certification requested for a customer’s target market is normally paid for by the customer. If customization changes core electrical or safety-related elements and requires retesting, the applicable cost is evaluated according to the modification. Cost-sharing or future order credits may be discussed for qualified long-term projects.

In OEM projects, customer-owned designs and intellectual property remain with the customer, subject to the signed agreement. In ODM projects, GeePower retains ownership of its existing platform and technical intellectual property while granting the customer the agreed usage and marketing rights.

Customized products generally follow the applicable standard warranty. Separate terms may be required when major customer-requested changes affect expected product life, reliability or responsibility boundaries, or when the customer specifies particular third-party components.

Yes. Product manuals, datasheets, labels and packaging can be adapted for the customer’s brand and target market, subject to technical, legal and language-content confirmation.

GeePower’s sales team normally reviews sufficiently complete inquiries with the development team and responds within seven business days.
